Owning the Logistics So You Don't Have To.
Headquartered in Irving, Texas. Serving producers across East Texas and the Louisiana Gulf Coast since November 2018.
Our Mission
AMJ Energy buys crude and moves it with our own trucks. The discipline comes from Ryan's earlier career running fuel supply to power generators across Latin America. Reliable take-away and good pricing come from one place: owning the trucks and the trading desk.
Unlike brokers and spot-market carriers, AMJ takes title at the production tank battery and manages the full chain from lease to market. Our scheduling system smooths the end-of-month spike that hits independent carriers across the region.
Our Approach
The structural problem in crude transport is uneven monthly demand. Production builds in the first half of the month while end-of-month scheduling for marginal wells creates demand surges in the second half, straining independent carriers and producing unreliable take-away precisely when producers need it most.
AMJ's solution was to build the infrastructure rather than rent it. Blue Jay Logistics, our wholly-owned subsidiary launched in May 2021, gives us dedicated truck capacity that we allocate across producers so the monthly demand curve evens out.
The result: producers get the certainty of a captive fleet with the pricing and market access of a first purchaser with a real trading desk.
In Practice
When you sell crude to AMJ, the workflow is end-to-end. Our trading desk agrees terms and takes title at the production tank battery. Blue Jay Logistics dispatches a DOT-407 / MC-307 certified tanker to make the pickup. Once the load is delivered, we handle invoicing, royalty payments, division orders, and year-end tax documents.
There is no broker between us and the producer, no contracted carrier with separate pricing, and no third-party servicer holding owner relationships at arm's length. One agreement, one contact, one payment cycle.
What We Don't Do
What AMJ is not, by design: a broker, a spot-market carrier, or a national operation with regional outposts. We don't subcontract crude transport to whoever is cheapest that week. We don't outsource royalty owner statements to a third party servicer. We don't claim coverage we can't actually deliver.
The company exists to do one thing well: gather, transport, and pay for crude across our operating region. That focus defines every part of the operation.
Operating Territory
AMJ Energy actively purchases crude across East Texas and the Louisiana Gulf Coast, with Blue Jay Logistics providing transportation throughout the region under interstate hazmat authority. Additional service area considered on request.
